Forgetting September 11th

Tue Jul 1, 2008, 1:28 PM
It is sad that memories burned into my brain seperate me from some age groups. People who are "adults" technically, but were too young to really remember 9-11-2001, have memories of a very different world than I do, and remember(or forget) that day differently. People who are 20 now were 13 when 9-11 happened, and I know I don't remember many things that happened in the world when I was 13! I kind of don't blame them for forgetting.... but for me, I was 28 when it happened, and I still remember every moment of that morning. I remember what I saw, who I talked to and the proceeding moments thereafter. And I was all the way in Massachusetts watching it on TV. How sad it is that a horrile, terrible day is so easily lost on the young. I suppose this is kind of like senior citizens who remmber the attack on Peral Harbor; I *knew* about it, but I felt no horror thinking about it. Still, 9-11-2001 marked the largest number of civilian deaths on American soil in any one incident.... that even trumps Pearl Harbor, in my opinion. One fortunate thing about 9-11-2001 is that it was recorded in color, live as it happened, by many people. If you are under 25 and are curious, I suggst looking it up. Rent that 9-11 documentary, look it up on Youtube. Ignore the conspiracy bullshit. It happened, it was real- and chances are good that it (or something like it) will happen again. Don't forget.

Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

When the sky was a vaporous flame;
I have seen the dark universe yawning
Where the black planets roll without aim,
Where they roll in their horror unheeded, without knowledge or lustre or name."
